Emery – “Playing With Fire” Acoustic

Artist: Emery

Song: “Playing With Fire” Acoustic

Notes: As you can tell from some past posts (and you’ll see it more in the future) i’m a huge fan of bands toning their heavy songs down and doing them acoustically. I’ve loved Emery since their first album and years back when they released acoustic stuff I fell in love with them even more. I actually just happened to remember about this a few days ago and wanted to share it with you guys! Hope you all enjoy and a stay tuned from our other favorite Emery acoustic songs!

Brightwood – “Taken”

Artist: Brightwood

Song: “Taken”

Notes: I love this song and the lyrics, it’s been a favorite of mine for awhile! The only unfortunate thing is the song only lasts around 2:30, the rest is an outro to their album. The 2:30 are flat out awesome though! Hope you all enjoy!

Skillet – “A Little More”

Artist: Skillet

Song: “A Little More”

Notes: This song is so encouraging and has been one of my favorites for years! It gives such a great visual and speaks so much to me personally as a husband and father. Especially whenever I get stressed or worried about anything, I know the love that is all around me will hold everything up. I hope you all enjoy it and can connect with it as well!

Dead Poetic – “Paralytic”

Artist: Dead Poetic

Song: “Paralytic”

Boyce Avenue – “Broken Angel” Acoustic Performance

Artist: Boyce Avenue

Song: “Broken Angel”

Notes: We hope you guys really liked the cover song we posted yesterday by Boyce Avenue. They’re definitely one of my favorites right now, and their covers keep me really entertained. However, Boyce Avenue isn’t just a super awesome cover band….they write/perform their own stuff and it is phenomenal. Today’s song is an acoustic performance of their song “Broken Angel”. It’s one of my favorites from their album and hope you all enjoy it!

Boyce Avenue – “Teenage Dream” Cover

Artist: Boyce Avenue

Song: “Teenage Dream” Cover

Notes: For those of you who dig some of the popular pop songs that are on the radio these days, but don’t like the artists so much then Boyce Avenue is the go-to source for awesome covers! The dude is incredible and takes these songs to a whole ‘nother level of awesome! He typically rewrites the arrangements and mellows them out a ton, then adds a dash of beautiful into them….definitely makes overplayed songs enjoyable. I’ve always thought “Teenage Dream” was a really catchy song as much as I hate to admit it, but Boyce Avenue makes this song his own and makes it so awesome! Enjoy!

UnderOath – “Desolate Earth: The End Is Here”

Artist: UnderOath

Song: “Desolate Earth: The End Is Here”

Notes: I’ve been a huge UnderOath fan for awhile, both their harder stuff and their even harder stuff that they’ve released in the past few years. However they’ve got some totally awesome ambient/chill jams that they scatter in there every now and then and I totally love them! Thanks to our bud Chris Ladden from our Facebook Page for recommending this one for us to post. Enjoy!

RyanDan – “The Face”

Artist: RyanDan

Song: “The Face”

Notes: My wife found this heavenly vocal-duo awhile back. During that time her uncle and grandpa were struggling through their battles with cancer, and my mom had just overcame her struggle with it. This song spoke to us every time we listened to it and always left us with tears in our eyes, however it brought peace to us at the same time. It’s crazy how a 3 minute, 4 minute or 5 minute song can help us through things – remind us of things much bigger than ourselves or make our situations feel relate-able when we feel alone. There are some songs out there that were definitely meant to be sang and played. I count myself blessed to have stumbled upon this one – I hope you all enjoy it!

Kari Jobe – “You Are For Me”

Artist: Kari Jobe

Song: “You Are For Me”

Notes: I feel like a lot of people need to hear this more often, and really take the words in. “You Are For Me” – So simple, but it’s so easy to lose sight of this fact. The creator of everything is for us….he molds our worlds in the palms of his hands and he’ll always take care of us. Enjoy and have a blessed week!

Elevation Worship – “The Church” Remix

Artist: Elevation Worship

Song: “The Church” Remix

Notes: Wow! People’s creativity astounds me when it comes to remixing music! Not only was this an already awesome song, but they made it even more awesome to listen to. I’m really pumped on this! Hope ya’ll dig it as well!

Kudos to my good friend Jonathan over at ChurchIdeasBlog.com for showcasing this song!
